Ada Police Department
Protecting and Serving Ada, Ohio Since 1861
Michael Harnishfeger, CLEE
Chief of Police
Central to every safe community is a strong and healthy relationship between the residents and their police agency. Project S.A.F.E.R. (Seeking Aid From Every Resident) is Ada's own community policing initiative started in January of 2002 and winner of the 2003 Ohio Crime Prevention's Community Policing Strategy Award, aimed at nurturing this important and vital relationship. Through the S.A.F.E.R. Program we are continually reminding our residents of their role in assisting the Ada Police Department to keep Ada a SAFER community. A community of 5,500 residents, our S.A.F.E.R. Program declares that our community doesn't just rely on our police officers to keep Ada SAFER, but we have decided that all of our residents will join the fight against crime and nuisance activity. Ada truly is a SAFER community because of the positive relationship between our residents and staff of the Ada Police Department.
